“The Sunken Temple”

Hidden at the bottom of a remote canyon, a solitary temple rises from still water. It is preserved by its isolation and framed by towering rock walls that block most of the daylight. A narrow shaft of light from above strikes the roof, revealing just enough of its structure to suggest age and purpose.

A lone adventurer, lost in the canyon, happens upon it by chance. His lantern reflects on the water as he approaches, but he is secondary to the scene. The focus remains on the temple itself, its shape, its presence, and its mystery. The calm water, the deep shadows, and the quiet atmosphere all reinforce the idea that the temple is the true subject of the discovery.

“The Sunken Temple” — Environment Concept Art
Sketch, Blender, Photoshop, Lightroom

Sketch: Explored a composition centered on the temple. Framed it between canyon walls and placed it partly submerged to emphasize scale and isolation.
Blender: Blocked out the canyon and water. Built the main structure with simple modular forms. Added a vertical beam of light from a narrow opening above. Placed a small figure for scale only.
Photoshop: Refined textures, adjusted lighting, added atmosphere, and water reflections. Strengthened the silhouette and enhanced the focal point.
Lightroom: Final color adjustment and contrast work. Balanced warm stone tones with cooler shadows to highlight the temple as the central subject.
